Google My Business will create a free website based on what you fill in on the app. It's not terrible. In fact, it might be better than most Wix and Weebly-type sites. Take a look at my free Google website here. Google has a decent system of tying my posts to My Business to the website, and it looks about as good as anything Google generally bothers to create. It's so much less work than creating something on Wordpress or whatnot. Honestly, if you just need to get the old business website going, not worried about email lists and lots of custom web pages, then I'd give this a shot.
So I was looking on the internet for the best interactive online resume, and it didn't seem to exist. I wanted to see what others had done to make themselves stand out, but besides the occasional full website dedicated to a namesake, I couldn't really find a decent, all-in-one resume online.
So I built it myself: Brian Jaeger's resume. It's pretty good, but it did take me a couple of days. That's somewhat ironic, since it took my three years since I was laid off to come up with the idea of sticking all this on one of my own pages rather than messing around on Linkedin or other profile-based websites. The fact is that you can organize there and then build it elsewhere. Anyhow, if you're looking for a stellar online resume, I might be available for hire if the resume itself doesn't get me a job right away. Click here to edit Help! I can't edit the post title in this weebly page. I assume there's some kind of problem in Firefox.
Maybe I have to drag the Title box over...I'm not sure; that seems to have added a title to the post text, but there's still that Post Title... area on the top. I guess I'll try posting this article to see what happens. So I published it and then edited it, and now I can add a title, but the permalink is probably based on the old title, which was the date. No matter. Weebly is just here to play around with. It's easy enough. The Florida-Georgia District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod has just benefited from the generosity of a web designer who is also an LCMS Lutheran wanting to help them out. Luthernet Web Design has now finished compiling free assessments of Florida LCMS church websites.
This kind of evaluation would be part of the process of finding a new web designer in most cases, performed by church members who may or may not know what makes a website work well. Another web designer with hopes of getting hired might also criticize the old website beyond reason in order to land a new job. Luthernet's assessments were based on experience and based in honesty. Here's a list of some of the congregations evaluated by Luthernet: Bethlehem Lutheran Church JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL Eternal Trinity Lutheran Church MILTON, FL Good Shepherd Lutheran Church CHIEFLAND, FL Holy Cross Lutheran Church NORTH MIAMI, FL Holy Trinity Lutheran Church LAND O LAKES, FL Hope Lutheran Church DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, FL Immanuel Lutheran Church BRANDON, FL Lakeside Lutheran Church VENICE, FL Living Water Lutheran Church MEXICO BEACH, FL Lutheran Church of The Cross ARCADIA, FL Messiah Lutheran Church CARROLLWOOD, FL When I moved to Jacksonville, FL, I figured I needed to write more local. My family blog got some hits, but a more local offering might get my neighbors to read more of what I've written, in turn providing me with more potential clients. That's why I started New Jax Witty. It's a local Jacksonville blog, more focused than my other ones. We'll see how the response goes in a few months, but the idea is that it should be better targeted to those around me. It's supposed to tell stories about the area from the perspective of an outsider and with a bit of humor.
If your school district is thinking of getting Chromebooks soon, or even if they've already made the purchase, you need to consider all the costs. The linked article does a good job of discussing some of the hidden costs that school districts often ignore. It's your job as a taxpayer to bring these costs up so that your taxes don't increase in order to pay for more training, costly repairs, and even costlier replacement of Chromebooks.

When a school district goes to 1:1 Chromebooks, it can be a challenge. One of the biggest problems with the Chromebooks tend to be with screen flex, and that can be solved by using the Cranium Chromebook Protector. For teachers not ready to commit to daily online lessons, the Cranium doubles as a whiteboard. This can even be a valuable tool in the tech-savvy classroom. The Cranium is also permanent. Have you see what happens when students are told to keep Chromebooks in soft cases? Just as kids will test the limits of where they can navigate to online, they also test the limits of the protection offered by cases, so use the best available. Contact Educabana for bulk orders on any model. Based on a photo published in OA Online, Ector Middle School in Odessa, TX, the new Chromebooks came without covers. Be very careful. If you are worried about these Chromebooks, ask administrators to invest in Cranium Chromebook Hard Case Screen Protectors and Whiteboards. They work better than other cases and protectors, focusing on Chromebook flexible screens.
